I graduated from the University of Canterbury in 1982 and was admitted to the New Zealand Roll of Barristers and Solicitors in 1983. I worked for Christchurch law firms and a government department before travelling to England in the late 1980’s. I spent several years travelling and working in private practice and local authorities in England, during which time I was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors of England and Wales.
Since returning to Christchurch, I have primarily worked as either a sole practitioner or in partnership. I have held part-time teaching and tutoring positions with the former College of Education and the University of Canterbury. I have served time on local committees, including the Mt Pleasant Squash Club and Korfball New Zealand, and am presently chair of the Disciplinary Committee of the International Korfball Federation. I am a member of the New Zealand Law Society, the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Law Society, and the Property Section of the New Zealand Law Society.
I am an associate Legal Executive registered with the New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives. I completed my studies at Christchurch Polytechnic in 1989 and have been working in the law since that time. I am the primary contact for all conveyancing matters when clients are buying or selling homes. In addition to this, I am responsible for the day to day administration of the firm’s trust account, practice management and IT matters.
Away from work, I am a qualified teacher of Bikram yoga and teach regularly at a local yoga studio.
I have lived and worked in Brisbane, Australia for 13 years. Throughout my time in Australia I worked in administration, from reception to office management, over a wide range of industries. While in Australia I had two beautiful children before returning home to Christchurch in 2012.
I love my role as Legal Assistant for Ngaire and Marg and in 2018 will be commencing studies to become a qualified Legal Executive.
